This is an invitation to the world’s engineers, tinkerers, inventors and vehicle enthusiasts, to help The 40 Fires Foundation develop a sustainable car the open source way.
This is the first time the ‘source code’ – its underlying schematics and designs - of a car will be available under a Creative Commons License for collaborative improvement.
Our main priority over the next few months is to start conversations around the design of the The Hyrban , leading on to the launch of a full blown vehicle development programme. If you have enthusiasm for our goals, and have skills in the following areas, then do get in touch:
- electrical engineering
- mechanical engineering
- software engineering
- environmental engineering
- working with composite materials
- industrial design
- on-line community building
- intellectual property law and licensing
- car production.
You can get in touch by sending an e-mail
to participate@40fires.org or filling in a form and we will get back to you shortly.
You can also participate in one of the discussion groups that we will shortly be forming.
Finally, if you would like to help by making a donation to The 40 Fires Foundation - go to the Sponsorship page for details.
